Delhi

The largest metropolis area in India, Delhi is also the country’s capital and business hub. Emerging from the shadow of Mumbai, Delhi is embarking on major developments while maintaining a traditional Indian feel.

Holding a reputation as a political landmark, it hasn’t lost any entertainment credentials along the way. Most noticeable in the 21st century for the array of Bollywood stars spending time in the city, Delhi has really become a destination for the high-end traveler.

Elite travelers can expect to see an array of influences in Delhi. Commonly misunderstood as a city built by the Mughals, Delhi was in fact a city built by the British, which shows in its architecture. Many of the structures were designed by Englishman Robert Tor Russell, such as Connaught Place, the Eastern and Western Courts, Flagstaff House (where Jawaharlal Nehru lived) and also the majority of the public buildings and post offices.

Delhi is certainly driven towards an exciting future, and with roots in rich tradition and power, there is no reason for it not to succeed in the coming years. This destination guide explores why now is the time to visit and be one of the first few to experience this vibrant city!
