The Aman At Summer Palace, Beijing Opens

Beijing, China – Amanresorts launched of The Aman at Summer Palace, Beijing with a festive opening ceremony and ribbon-cutting recently. The new hotel is is the company’s 19th property worldwide and its first resort in China. To mark the occasion, guests mingled in the hotel’s courtyards and were entertained by a 10-piece Chinese instrumental band on arrival, a traditional dance show before the ribbon-cutting and a spectacular KunQu show in the Music Pavilion overlooking a Chinese pond.

The 250-year-old Summer Palace, once an imperial retreat with elegant palaces, pavilions and gardens, is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The resort offers 18 Guest Rooms and 33 Suites housed in a combination of original buildings and facsimiles, all connected by intricately hand-painted wooden passageways that lead into courtyard gardens. There is an extensive selection of dining options, from The Chinese Restaurant and The Grill, to Naoki and The Lounge, as well as an extensive fitness center, a spa and a 25-meter indoor pool.
