By Chris Boyle

Gaja restaurant

Don’t miss out on Istanbul’s wealth of attractions, adventures and experiences

GAJA RESTAURANT

Cuisine: International

Style / Ambiance: Situated on the 14th floor of the Swissôtel, Gaja restaurant has stunning views of the Bosphorus.

The interior is modern and minimalist with soft blue tones that reflect the hues of the river itself. Michelin-starred Head Chef, James Wilkins, produces contemporary world cuisine with unique flavors. Wilkins’s passion is desserts, from refreshing lemongrass and ginger sorbet to mouthwatering caramelized banana and cinnamon tart with caramel ice cream. Each course of the taster menu is complemented by a selection of fine Turkish wines. There is a private section with a capacity for 12 guests.

PERA PALACE HOTEL

The Pera Palace Hotel opened in 1895 to provide luxury accommodation for the elite traveling to Istanbul on the newly extended Orient Express.

Restored and re-opened in 2010, this distinguished hotel remains a worthy destination for today’s Elite Traveler. Agatha Christie regularly visited the Pera Palace and was inspired to write her bestseller ‘Murder on the Orient Express’. Guests have the option to stay in Christie’s favorite room, 411, where her diary was found hidden under the floorboards. Serving a blend of French, Italian and Turkish cuisine, the Agatha Christie Restaurant pays tribute to the destinations of the former Orient Express.

The Özlem Süer collection includes a wide selection of white shirts for business wear, clean cut organic cotton dresses, hand knitted cardigans and wedding gowns.
