Elite Recommends – Prague’s Ultimate VIP Experience

By Chris Boyle

Hluboka Castle

Elite Traveler has selected Prague’s most exclusive VIP experiences

For an intimate experience of all that Prague has to offer, Concierges Jana Kovacova and Marketa Draxlerova from Le Palais Hotel recommend a rich and versatile itinerary for your stay in one of Europe’s most inspiring cities.

DAY 1

Allow yourself to relax during your first day in Prague. There’s no better way to de-stress after your flight than under the expertise of our highly qualified wellness therapists at the Le Palais Hotel’s Pure Spa. Surrender to the ‘Jet Lag Menu’ and choose from an extensive range of body and face treatments. In the evening, a welcome dinner of contemporary European gastronomy awaits you in the hotel’s charming Library and Club, offering stunning views of the city.

DAY 2

After breakfast, your discovery of Prague begins. A private visit to Strahov Monastery Library and Prague Castle by vintage car or limousine gives you an immediate flavor of the Czech capital’s rich history. You will be granted special access to the presidential state rooms, the Spanish Hall and Rudolph Gallery, where a glass of local sparkling wine will await your arrival. At the end of the tour, you can enjoy lunch at Lobkowicz Palace in its splendid Banqueting Hall adorned with 17th century frescoes. If you are an admirer of the arts, check out the Palace’s Princely Collections comprising works from Pieter Brueghel, Canaletto, Beethoven and Mozart. You haven’t seen Prague until you’ve visited its remarkable Old Town. Travel over the famous Charles Bridge, the oldest bridge in the city, to reach the Old Town Square where you can see the 15th century Astronomical Clock. End your day on the summer terrace at Hergetova Cihelna, a stylish dining spot favored by locals as well as visitors, thanks to its creative variations of Czech and international cuisine.

DAY 3

A full day trip to the fairytale castle, Hluboká will appeal to more romantic types. Set in the beautiful Bohemian countryside, this architectural marvel, in the form of a Windsor-style Gothic château, has been home to several of Bohemia’s ruling families. Its white façade gives it a semi-mythical appearance, which has even featured as a backdrop in several Hollywood movies. Lunch is served within these historic walls, followed by a one-hour excursion to explore the rambling ramparts and English-inspired Park. To complete your journey into Bohemia, a reservation can be made at the famous Blue Duckling Restaurant, where authentic Bohemian cuisine is served in a series of small dining rooms with vaulted ceilings and antique furniture. Wild game and unique variations on traditional Czech dishes are the restaurant’s signature creations.

DAY 4

An exciting day is in store for guests who enjoy a touch of adrenaline – a full day of thrilling tailor-made off-road activities. Only 12 miles (20km) from Prague, a fleet of more than 75 off-road vehicles – ranging from quad-bikes, 4×4 jeeps, trucks, off-road racing cars, large helicopters and even tanks are available for your sole enjoyment. And after an action-packed day, unwind at Kampa Park Restaurant, Prague’s premier fine dining establishment where you’ll often see local and international celebrities.

DAY 5

On your final day, return to the heart of Prague. Take time to wander around town and explore the many famous landmarks throughout the city. Or allow Le Palais Hotel to arrange an exclusive backstage tour at the Prague Opera Estates Theatre with its links to maestros such as Beethoven, Berlioz, Wagner, Liszt, Don Giovanni and Mozart. The House at the Black Madonna is a perfect stop for coffee, located in the Cubist-style Grand Café Orient. The Municipal House is just a few minutes away; a lavish monument built as a tribute to Art Nouveau. Its French restaurant is considered one of the most beautiful Art Nouveau dining venues in Europe and lunch is highly recommended. Complete your Prague experience with a farewell dinner at romantic Troja Chateau, an imposing 17th century Baroque palace.
