For three nights only, Krug is taking over one of Los Angeles’ most famous recording studios for a series of musical dining experiences.
Taking place in Larrabee Studios, which has recorded for the likes of Alicia Keys, Blink 182, Michael Jackson, Fleetwood Mac, and Taylor Swift, in North Hollywood from September 28-30, The Art of Blending Krug and Sound is set to examine the emotional relationship between music and champagne.
A small number of guests per evening will join Larrabee owner Manny Marroquin and acclaimed producers Scott Tibbs, Nick Rosen, and Mike Bennett in the highly refined acoustic environment of Studio 6. Here, they will be guided through a tasting of some of Krug’s finest cuvees, including Krug 2013 and Krug Grande Cuvée 169ème Édition, and asked to share the emotions and memory that drinking each evokes.
Based on attendees’ reactions to each champagne, the Larrabee composers will translate the collective interpretation to create an original composition live, making each session entirely unique.
“Music has this extraordinary ability to translate sensations and emotions into another language,” says Krug chef de caves, Julie Cavil. “This encounter with Larrabee Studios invites each guest to bring their own interpretation, creating a singular dialogue between taste and sound that cannot be replicated.”

Alongside the champagne tasting, guests will experience a paired menu by Oscar Torres of restaurant Verse, alongside a further selection of Krug cuvees. Following the three evenings at Larrabee, this paired menu will be available at both Verse and neighboring restaurant Mensano for one month only.
“Larrabee has always been a place where creativity comes to life through exchange,” says Marroquin, who has won 15 Grammys over the course of his career. “Partnering with Krug gave us the opportunity to invite guests into that process, where every conversation, every shared moment, and every glass of champagne becomes part of the music we’re creating together. No two evenings will ever be the same.”
This is not the first time Krug has sought to examine the bond between champagne and sound and the champagne house has regularly partnered musicians and artists. Most recent was Oscar-winning composer Max Richter, who hosted a one-night-only concert at London’s storied venue, The Roundhouse, where he performed a piece created in response to drinking Krug champagne; during the performance, attendees drank paired wines.
Krug’s other past musical collaborators include jazz pianist Jacky Terrasson, Belgian electronic/pop musician Ozark Henry, and The Clash guitarist Mick Jones, who teamed with Krug to throw a one-day music festival on a private island back in 2016.
