Cabo San Lucas After the Storm: World's Richest Fishing Tournament Will Go On

By Neharika Padala

Hurricane Odile will not stop the bustling tourism industry of Cabo San Lucas. In fact despite damage to the area, one of the city’s largest events, the Bisbee’s Black & Blue Fishing Tournament (October 21-25) will go on as planned, providing a much needed stimulus to the Cabo economy and a once in a lifetime opportunity for adventure seeking travelers.

The Bisbee’s has been taking place in Cabo San Lucas for more than 30 years, and this year is no exception. The Bisbee’s, which has been dubbed the ‘Super Bowl’ of sport fishing, is one of the largest and richest marlin tournaments in the world. Later this month participants from across the globe will descend on Cabo San Lucas for four days of legendary competition and celebration.
