English watchmaker Arnold & Son has introduced two new versions of its TB88 watch.
The rose gold case option has a grey open dial while the stainless steel version comes with a black open dial. They are part of the Royal Collection.
The TB88 features a hand-finished A&S5003 calibre that brings together all the technical and aesthetic aspects of a chronometer, a term used for a supremely accurate timepiece.
The new version also sees an ‘English’ movement design, as expressed through features like the straight-cut bridges. Each of the pivoting elements in the movement is mounted on its own bridge. The parts that make the watch work are visible on the dial instead of being hidden away.
The watchmaker’s founder John Arnold made the first chronometer in the early 19th century.
