The resting place for 170,000 people, Highgate Cemetery is undeniably spooky. But it is also majestic and is a perfect example of extravagant Victorian architecture. It is home to some cult figures, including singer George Michael, pop artist Patrick Caulfield and philosopher Karl Marx. Visitors are free to wander around the East Cemetery at their own pace from where you can see many of its iconic inhabitants. The West Cemetery can only be seen through a tour guide, but it is worth it for the wealth of information there is to learn about this Victorian landmark.
