Kyoto Gardens

Kyoto Gardens provides a pleasantly surprising slice of zen in an otherwise bustling Kensington.

By Alex Martin

Nestled in Holland Park, surprisingly few Londoners know this little enclave exists. Kyoto Gardens were built to celebrate the 1992 Japanese Festival and provide a healthy slice of zen in an otherwise bustling Kensington. Located within walking distance of Kensington High Street, it is the perfect place to unwind after a day of shopping. The tranquil tiered waterfalls are particularly pleasant at any time of year. Visit in spring when the trees are in blossom for a spectacular photo opportunity.
