Basel, Switzerland — In celebration of the 200th anniversary of the design of the first wristwatch, ordered by the Queen of Naples Caroline Murat from Breguet, the brand has released the Queen of Naples Automatic Hour Strike watch at this year’s Baselworld Fair.
Shown in a private preview for Elite Traveler, the stunning egg-shaped, white gold timepiece features an automatic strike complication that strikes every hour on the hour three times (though the function can be deactivated if the wearer wishes). The mother-of-pearl dial is surrounded by a bezel set with 30 diamonds (three carats in total), and the movement, which can be viewed through the sapphire crystal case back, is in the shape of a dove via the bridges’ construction.
The watch retails for $150,000 CHF (approximately $140,000 USD).
