The 3 Best Things To Do In Madrid

By Chris Boyle

Don’t miss out on Madrid’s wealth of attractions and adventures

MADRID OPEN

MAY 3 – 12, 2013

Caja Mágica, the Magic Box, was designed by French architect Dominique Perrault and is the only venue in the world which has three courts with retractable roofs.

On center court VIP guests can watch world class tennis from the comfort of a box or the skylounge, both of which have direct access to the VIP restaurant. During the tournament a temporary designer shopping city is established at the Magic Box, including Calvin Klein and Tiffany’s stores. There is also a fan zone, with state-of-the-art interactive technology and famous bands, who are booked to entertain visitors.

LA BROCHE AT HOTEL MIGUEL ÁNGEL

Light and space define the interior of La Broche as large pane-glass windows allow natural light to flow into the room, coming to rest on pure white furnishings.

Elegant white orchids stand tall against the windows, and tables are furnished with striped black glassware. Like the décor, the service is impeccable, and with generous space between tables, patrons are given room to breathe. In 2008, Angel Palacio replaced Sergi Arola at the helm and his seasonal menu merits La Broche’s Michelin star. There is valet parking and both the kitchen and the wine cellar are open to view. La Broche is located in Madrid’s financial sector.

REINA BRUJA BAR

Reina Bruja translates as the ‘Witch Queen’. Designed by Thomás Alia, this bar is a sea of 16 million point LED color changing lights.

This impressive state-of-the-art multifunctional space can accommodate groups of 20-1,000 people, and the lighting color scheme can be customized for every event and party. Event catering includes hot and cold canapés, with fresh pasta salad and boletus mushrooms dressed with truffle oil and served in a porcelain spoon. For a truly VIP experience enquire about the night guide service and be taken to the most fashionable bars and exclusive restaurants in Madrid.
