Claridge’s marked the start of the holiday season last week with the unveiling of its signature Christmas tree. Designed by Alber Elbaz, creative director at the much-lauded house of Lanvin, the tree is a festive and fashionable addition to the landmark hotel’s Art Deco lobby.
A long-time guest of Claridge’s, Elbaz encapsulated the spirit of both the hotel and the house of Lanvin with his colorful, cheeky tree design. Silk figures—representing the Lanvin family and hotel staff the night after Christmas—surround the tree, which is bedecked in vibrant pink hues, pearls and glitter. Sitting on top of the tree is Elbaz himself, complete with angel wings.
The Claridge’s Christmas tree will be on display through January 2nd.
