Louis Vuitton has announced its acquisition of La Fabrique du Temps, a Geneva-based haute horology workshop that specializes in crafting such high standard movements as tourbillons and minute repeaters.
Since its founding in 2007, La Fabrique du Temps has been a partner of the French house. This new acquisition will serve to reinforce Louis Vuitton’s expanding watchmaking venture. In 2002, the company unveiled a workshop in La Chaux-de-Fonds to turn out exceptional movements, including the now-signature Tambour watch. By integrating La Fabrique du Temps, the company will further develop its standards of quality and technical know-how in high end watchmaking. La Fabrique du Temps will continue to fulfill orders for external clients.
