In so many matters, more is more. For companies that use the finest, highest quality fabrics, the more delicate layers–or folds–within a man’s necktie, the better. At the Pitti Immagine Uomo menswear show in Florence last week, Neapolitan designer Isaia unveiled the collection he will be dressing men in next spring/summer, and it includes the company’s first nine-fold necktie, improving on its already impressive seven-fold style. Made exclusively from designed printed silks, these unique creations are as light as air, varying form 2.8 to 3 ounces in weight. Constructed from a single piece of fabric, approximately one yard in length, the nine-fold necktie drapes beautifully without exhibiting too voluminous a knot. These chic accessories are also available in made-to-measure. They will cost about $295, or $345 with a presentation box encased in the tie’s fabric. Isaia’s colors, textures and prints next season are inspired by the vibrancy of India.
