Barbados’ most famous luxury resort, Sandy Lane, underwent a resort-wide renovation program at the end of last year that upped the level of luxury significantly. In addition to refurbishment of the resort’s 112 guest rooms, the improvements included a new casual dining restaurant, Bajan Blue, which features a residential-style kitchen, chef’s table, wine bar and seating both inside and out. The 14-room spa received a new panoramic sauna, a steam room that doubles as a Rhassoul Bath, and treatment menu incorporating Anne Semonin products. Also new are luxury helicopter transfers that cut the time it takes guests to arrive at the resort from Grantley Adams International Airport down to a mere seven minutes. At the helm of the renovated resort is a new manager too. Robert Logan was named General Manager in September. Most recently, he was General Manager of Raffles Hotel, Singapore.
