As the ninth jewel in The Peninsula Hotels’ crown, The Peninsula Shanghai will open on October 19, 2009. The hotel fronts the historic Bund within the exclusive Waitan Yuan, with views of the Bund, Huangpu River, Pudong and the former British Consulate Gardens. Designed by renowned architect David Beer and acclaimed interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon, the hotel is a modern interpretation of the Shanghai’s Art Deco aesthetic.
In celebration of this milestone event, The Peninsula Shanghai introduces the Peninsula Preview Rate. Valid October 19, 2009 through February 28, 2010, this rate starts at 2,009 Yuan for a Superior Room (about $295). Normal rates are 3,200 Yuan or about $468 a night. Guests also receive a complimentary American-style breakfast and round-trip airport transfers from Hongqiao or Pudong International Airport.
