The Greenbrier resort, in picturesque White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., will introduce gaming today at the new Tavern Casino. Discreetly located in a stylish lounge in the property’s Virginia Wing, The Tavern Casino will serve as the property’s introductory gaming facility until the highly anticipated new, underground Casino at The Greenbrier officially debuts in April of 2010.
Encompassing 3,700 square feet, The Tavern Casino is a sophisticated setting with table games, including blackjack, roulette and three card poker. Slot machines, featuring a mix of 25 cent, $1 and $5 reel spinning machines, as well as video poker and low denomination video slots, will be added later in the month.
The Tavern Casino Package is perfect for guests looking to sample the property’s newest amenity. This package includes luxurious accommodations, $150 in match play coupons* and breakfast for two daily. Rates include all applicable taxes, gratuity and resort fees and start at $419 single occupancy and $449 double occupancy. The Tavern Casino Package is available from October 1 through December 22. Blackout dates may apply.
The Tavern Casino will be open to overnight guests, members of The Greenbrier Sporting Club and The Greenbrier Golf and Tennis Club in addition to registered event/convention attendees staying off-property when more than 400 rooms are sold. Hours of operation will be 11 a.m. to 3 a.m., Monday through Saturday and 2 p.m. to 3 a.m. on Sunday.
When The Casino at The Greenbrier debuts in April, The Tavern Casino will become available for private parties and groups. The Casino at The Greenbrier will offer nearly 40 table games, including blackjack, roulette, craps, mini baccarat, baccarat and poker variations such as three card and pai gow. The Casino will also have 320 slot machines featuring the latest technology, game types, denominations and even some vintage slot machines.
