The Trafalgar Hotel has introduced a new pre-theater menu at Rockwell Bar & Restaurant, capitalizing on a prime location in London’s West End. Launched as part of The London Restaurant Festival, the menu is available as two or three courses between 5pm and 8pm daily.
Highlights from the starters include the watercress soup with goats cheese and fresh cream, and the chicken & wild mushroom terrine with basil crème fraîche. From the main courses, try the pan fried sea bass served with pickled allotment salad, pea puree and sautéed potatoes, or the roasted salmon with charred broccoli, fondant potato and lemon butter sauce. To finish, Rockwell offers a selection of classic British desserts, with a modern twist. Among these, the Eton Mess and the white chocolate and Baileys bread and butter pudding stand out.
The modern 129-bedroom hotel fits happily with the grandeur of the surrounding streets, and Trafalgar Square is so close you’re almost in the shadow of Nelson’s Column. With this location comes The Mall (the boulevard leading to Buckingham Palace), the National Gallery, the National Portrait Gallery and St. James’s Park, not to mention some of the capital’s most iconic theaters. The sixth floor roof bar Vista affords winning views over Trafalgar Square, Big Ben and the London Eye, and with a recently expanded floor space of 3,800 square feet, offers one of London’s biggest rooftop venues. Vista can be booked for private parties, with a capacity for 200 guests.
