Miami, Florida – Reported by D.J. Larsen for Elite Traveler, Private Jet Lifestyle Magazine

With a history that dates back to the presidential term of Franklin D. Roosevelt, the National Hotel exudes Art Deco form and an illustrious history that has left a lasting impression in Miami Beach. This December, the luxury hotel unveils new guest rooms in the historic tower.

Armed with fixtures that not only pay tribute to Art Deco but also incorporate all of the necessities for today’s modern traveler, the National Hotel sets the South Beach standard for luxe living. The new furniture has been custom-designed in the exotic hardwood Sapele, known for its rich, red-brown tones and distinct piano finish. Bed frames, desks and entertainment console corners are fitted with chrome plate accents that underscore the rich and original feel.

Reminiscent of the era, ample lighting and a beautiful chrome wall clock tie together the interior elements that combine to create a fresh interpretation of the period. A thoroughly modern bathroom features a vanity created in the same deep rich mahogany tones and showers accented by pale green terrazzo tiles and dove grey terrazzo flooring. Engaging all senses, the National Hotel’s custom toiletries highlight the fresh scent of Mediterranean White Fig.
Many rooms in the tower offer breathtaking views of the Atlantic or city vistas that include the life and structural design of the historic neighborhood but it’s the hotel’s Signature Pool Terrace rooms and suites, overlooking the palm tree-lined infinity turquoise pool, that truly embody South Beach glitz.
Open terraces offer additional seating and are the perfect place to start your day with room service breakfast or, perhaps, a lap in the infinity pool. Guests also have direct access to the National Beach Club, which assembles chaise lounges and umbrellas along a stretch of white sand beach rimmed by the cerulean waters that South Beach is known for.

Guests can also enjoy an assortment of light fare from the Aqua Bar & Grill menu—along with refreshing cocktails or fruit beverages—as well as the Mediterranean-influenced menu at The Restaurant, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Thanks to both the new additions and old world charm, the National Hotel, today, remains a refuge for everyone who a whole new generation of luxury traveler looking to enjoy the excitement of South Beach in one of the city’s most iconic Art Deco properties.
