Red Square at Mandalay Bay has reopened its doors after a facelift that revitalized the dinner, cocktail and nightlife destination, under the direction of Light Group’s Corporate Executive Chef Brian Massie. The superb menu—pairing favorites like Tuna Tartare and Chicken Kiev with Bacon Brussels Sprouts and an impressive caviar selection—takes contemporary American favorites and infuses them with exciting Russian influences. Along with its famous frozen Ice Bar and private Vodka Vault, which guests enter wearing luxurious fur coats and military style jackets, the revamped Red Square will boast an intriguing list of signature cocktails, martinis and vodka infusions created by The Light Group’s team of master mixologists, making it the perfect nighttime destination.
The striking Vodka Vault, where guests will be able to partake in their own bottles of premium vodka, will also feature an exciting social media concept, where guests will have their photo taken and immediately uploaded to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, making the experience at once interactive and memorable.
“Red Square is the first of three restaurant concepts to be helmed by the Light Group at Mandalay Bay,” says Andy Masi, CEO of The Light Group. “The restaurant has long been a staple of the property and will continue to be a hub of great dining, cocktails and high energy moving forward.”
Next to open will be the casual American bistro, Citizens Kitchen & Bar. Located in the center of Mandalay Bay, Citizens Kitchen & Bar (opening in January 2013) will feature Chef Massie’s creative and contemporary take on American comfort food. The menu will be available 24 hours a day and will consist of a variety of signature favorites for breakfast, lunch and dinner, including Maryland Blue Crab Cakes, Southern Fried Chicken and Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf.
Newly refigured by leading international design firm Munge Leung, responsible for The Light Group’s stylish and sophisticated nightclub 1 OAK at the Mirage Hotel, Citizens will also offer a vast selection of beers as well a full service bar to complement the decadent fare. The approachable menu, lively music and comfortable atmosphere are poised to satisfy the tastes of any and all restaurant guests.
“Mandalay Bay is poised for a major transformation in 2013. Everything from our entertainment to dining and nightlife to accommodations will be re-imagined. We have been incredibly impressed by The Light Group and their work in the culinary field and know that our guests will be ‘wowed’ by what they deliver” said Chuck Bowling, president & COO at Mandalay Bay.
