Don’t miss out on Milan’s wealth of attractions and adventures

SHOPPING

For the world’s oldest fashion capital, Milan has lost none of the glamour and elegance that once defined it.

Italians love their fashion and nowhere more so than in Milan, where designer boutiques and luxury brand outlets jostle for space on beautiful neoclassical streets. The world’s oldest shopping arcade exists in the center of historic Milan, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele represents the height of fine shopping experiences, to wander amongst its beautiful stores under glassed domed ceilings and vivid frescos is a shopping experience that you will never forget.

THEATER – TEATRO ALLA SCALA

There is almost no finer setting in which to watch an opera, ballet or concert than La Scala.

Italy’s finest opera house has hosted some of the world’s most talented composers over the last 200 years. Watching one of the traditional performances from a rich gold and red velvet private box is an experience that transports you back to an era of performances by Giuseppe Verdi. Traditionally the season opens on December 7, which is the day of Milan’s patron, Saint Ambrose, but there are performances all year round.

ITALIAN GRAND PRIX

SEPTEMBER 7-9, 2012

The fastest circuit on the Formula 1 calendar and also one of the most popular, the Italian Grand Prix has been an annual highlight of Milan since the 1950s.

Hosted in Monza, just a short trip to the North of Milan, it is notorious for its enthusiastic atmosphere. A sea of red flags show the Italians’ support for their native Ferrari while helicopters shuttle VIPs, drivers and celebrities in and out of the city. ‘Milan for the glam, Monza for the race’ they say and certainly, while the celebrations take place in Milan, Monza is the true heart of these passionate three days. The Italian Grand Prix presents endless opportunities for VIPs, including pit lane visits and fine dining in exclusive restaurants that overlook the track and the pits.
