Shanghai Tang celebrated its 20th anniversary with a breathtaking SS15 China Fashion Chic mega fashion show on October 22. Hollywood and Chinese celebrities and members of international fashion elite came together to join the celebration. The show wowed a sophisticated audience with breathtaking designs from Shanghai Tang’s own SS15 collection alongside capsule collections from celebrated Chinese designers Masha Ma and Wang Pei Yi.
Speaking on the red carpet at gardens of Okura Garden Hotel in downtown Shanghai, where the event was held, Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman congratulated the brand on its achievement. “I like that this is their 20th anniversary and you’re starting a big celebration on Chinese fashion and I love that this is the leading brand.”
Internationally renowned super models Liu Wen, Bonnie Chen and Zhao Lei showcased the new SS15 collections for China Fashion Chic designers, Shanghai Tang’s creative head Raffaele Borriello, and Shanghai Tang’s menswear designer Armele Barbier. M.A.C, as the exclusive runway make up partner, has designed a unique palette under the theme of China Fashion Chic.
Renowned actress Lin Chiling said “We have been working together for many years. Today, Shanghai Tang is showing a Chinese lady’s past, present, and future. Shanghai Tang is the bridge between Chinese fashion and Western style”.
Raphael le Masne de Chermont, Executive Chairman of Shanghai Tang, concluded: “Shanghai Tang has been the global curator of modern Chinese chic for 20 years and in 2014 we will take the next step in our journey to position luxury Chinese fashion on the world stage. We feel honoured to lead this internationalization of Chinese style through China Fashion Chic and we are excited about the coming years.”
Afterwards celebrities, Shanghai’s fashion elites and guests were invited to continue the festivities at a glamorous party at Linx Club.
