Mercedes-Benz Unveil New C-Class Coupé

Mercedes-Benz has announced they are introducing a Coupé to its C-Class family.

The new addition to the line embodies all that is luxury and boasts an elegant interior and clean lines. Drivers can expect a dynamically configured chassis with optional air suspension, agile handling and driving pleasure. Its lightweight construct provides safety on the road whilst reducing weight.

The sporty silhouette boasts a diamond radiator grille and long bonnet, with the new Coupé being 60 millimeters longer than its predecessor between the firewall and front axle alone. The frame-less doors with free standing exterior mirrors further enhance the new Coupé’s sporty character.

The C-Class Coupé therefore clearly pledges itself to stylish driving enjoyment,” said Prof. Dr. Thomas Weber, member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG and responsible for Group Research and Mercedes-Benz Cars Development.

The interior seamlessly combines emotion with intelligence and exudes an athletic and youthful charm. The driver and passengers can both enjoy an ambiance that leans towards the interior of the C-Class Saloon yet raises it to a new, sportier level. The seating system includes integral sports seats designed specifically for the Coupé and offer style and comfort with an automatic belt feeder for added convenience. A range of materials and finishes are available to choose from, all of which have a hand-crafted feel with high-class appeal and deliver a new take on modern luxury: sportiness without compromising on comfort and exquisite style.

The Coupé comes with the choice of AIRMATIC air suspension on the front and rear axle. Electronically controlled, continuously adjustable damping on the front and rear axle ensures outstanding road roar and tire vibration giving the driver the option of selecting the desired driving style: sporty, comfortable or comsumption-optimised. The intelligent lightweight construction with a higher proportion of aluminum helps make the Coupé lighter than its predecessor, with light alloy components including the wings, bonnet and boot lid. However the new Coupé is stiffer and stronger thanks to the use of high-strength materials, having an overall positive effect on driving dynamics, noise level and crash safety.
