There are three European destinations that come to mind when the topic of fashion arises: London, Paris, and Milan.

For that reason, many who fly across the pond to said cities will often return with an overweight suitcase packed with new sartorial goodies, as turning down the opportunity to shop would be almost sacrilegious.

That said, if you’re looking to come home with new wardrobe additions, you needn’t just go to these cities to find them. There are plenty of under-the-radar boutiques scattered all across Europe that deserve just as much attention – places where you’re likely to find a curated selection of more local designers which mightn’t be stocked at multi-brand retailers in bigger cities. Here’s the luxury boutiques spread across the continent that are worth making a trip to.

Luxury boutiques in Europe

  • Jogging

    Marseille, France

As the oh-so-trendy destination for creatives to holiday, Marseille has an array of one-of-a-kind stores to peruse. Jogging is one of the best. It includes brands like Jacquemus, Adieu Paris, and Olympia Le Tan, and has a gallery space where a rotating roster of artists will display their work. And if you get a bit peckish, head to the courtyard and take a seat at Trattoria Cielo, where you’ll be served a seasonal meal made with local produce.

  • Voo Store

    Berlin, Germany

Berlin has always had a gritty underside to the city, but destinations like Voo Store prove that there’s space for luxury, too. Housed in a former locksmith, the store’s interiors honor the Brutalist architecture of the city with stripped-back walls and industrial-esque furniture. ‘Cool girl’ brands like Acne Studios, Chopova Lowena, and Kiko Kostadinov fill the space, alongside luxury houses like Prada, Dries van Noten, and Loewe.

  • LN-CC

    London, England

Sure, LN-CC is within a fashion capital, but its inconspicuous location in East London means that it’s a slight detour from the usual shopping hotspots on offer. That said, it’s worth a drop in. Visits are appointments only, meaning you can peruse the range of Miu Miu, Lemaire, and Rick Owens in privacy in a futuristic space designed by artist Gary Card. It’s quite unlike what you’ll find on Bond Street.

  • Carmen

    Amsterdam, Netherlands

A visit to this picture-perfect boutique is a must when visiting Amsterdam, for more reasons than just shopping. Its quaint selection of Eckhaus Latta, Extreme Cashmere, and Maryam Nassir Zadeh (to name a few) offers unique garments imbued with charm. After shopping, you can grab some lunch at their restaurant, which offers fresh seasonal produce such as Lebanese-style Turkish eggs, French toast with salted espresso cream, and date scones. If you’re unsure of where to stay on your next visit, why not book a room at their guesthouse? What was a 17th-century family home is now a two-room residence that’ll provide you with plenty of interior inspiration for your return home.

  • Lot #29

    Copenhagen, Denmark

Since it opened its doors in 2003, Lot #29 has been a go-to spot for tourists and locals alike. Their curated range of fashion, interiors, and beauty allows for one-of-a-kind purchases, ranging from Delfina Delettrez, Folk, and Frame Eyewear to high-end designers like Alberta Ferretti and Erdem. Those who step inside are instantly charmed by the treasure-trove approach to retail from the store’s owners, Cecilie Kølpin and Line Hallberg.

  • Maison Rainbow

    Bordeaux, France

Having undergone a renovation in 2024, Maison Rainbow reopened its doors bigger than ever, becoming the largest luxury concept store in Europe. It first opened in 1902 and is now run by the fourth generation of its owners, the Gouzik family. It's been designed to both honor the historic building it resides in and still feel modern, helped by the array of luxury fashion houses it stocks. Be prepared to spend hours roaming around the three floors, and to leave with a few too many shopping bags, too.

  • Stivali

    Lisbon, Portugal

Since E. Frank and Manuel Casal opened Stivali in 1982, it has held an esteemed reputation as the Harvey Nichols or Berghoff Goodman of Portugal. As you might expect, it’s stocked with a wide range of luxury brands (think: Alexander McQueen, Bottega Veneta, and Jil Sander) as well as pieces from fresher names, like Moncler Grenoble, Jacquemus, and Off-White. Rest assured, there’s something for everyone’s sartorial tastes.
