Dubbed The Ascent Limited Edition 8 watch, the newest Montblanc Exo Tourbillon is the world’s first watch with a built-in cyanometer. The manually wound watch (with patented suspended tourbillon) celebrates the first ascent of Mont Blanc’s 15,774-ft peak in 1786. At that time, the mountain climbers carried a cyanometer gauge with them to measure the intensity of the sky’s color and its changes in the presence of humidity. The gauge on the watch with the sky colors runs around the periphery of the tourbillon cage. On the dial side, Montblanc positioned a hand-carved sculpture of a mythical wyvern creature believed to have lived on the Mont Blanc Mer de Glace glacier.
