In the watch, the hammers and gongs are tuned to C and G flat for unusual sound.

Created as a piece unique, the new Roger Dubuis Excalibur Diabolus in Machina (‘Devil in the Machine’) is all about pushing the boundaries. The complicated watch houses a mechanical movement consisting of 558 pieces and chimes the time (hours, quarter hours and minutes after the quarter hours) on a minute repeater using a musical chord (‘Diabolus in Musica’) that was outlawed in medieval religious music because it possessed a somewhat primitive harshness. In the watch, the hammers and gongs are tuned to C and G flat for unusual sound. The watch also features a flying tourbillon (that compensates for errors in gravity when the watch is in different positions on the wrist). The 45mm watch carries the Hallmark of Geneva certification, attesting to its meticulous craftsmanship and finishing.
