The Suite
On the shores of Lake Como, Grand Hotel Tremezzo seems right out of a Wes Anderson film with its symmetrical, butter-hued facade. The rooftop suites are lovely, but if you’re bringing the family, it must be Villa Sola Cabiati. Separate from the main hotel but overlooking the lake, the villa sleeps 12 in six grand suites. Original terrazzo floors, period heirlooms, Tiepolo frescoes and Murano glass chandeliers remain. One room even holds the same bed Napoleon and Josephine Bonaparte slept in during a visit to Palazzo Serbelloni in Milan. The villa has its own swimming pool and a private jetty for accessing the lake. Guests can make use of a full complement of dedicated staff at all hours, including a butler, housekeepers and a chef.
The Hotel
Positioned along Lake Como’s western shore, Grand Hotel Tremezzo exudes timeless elegance. The property dates back to 1910 and offers panoramic views of the lake and Bellagio. Guests can choose from sumptuously designed rooms and suites, some featuring private terraces with breathtaking scenery. The floating pool on the lake and a private beach club provide unique relaxation spots. Dining includes the lakeside Giacomo al Lago, known for fresh seafood, and L’Escale, a wine cellar offering local vintages. The T Spa, housed in an 18th-century villa, specializes in ESPA treatments, ensuring a refined and rejuvenating experience.
