Willow Stream at Fairmont Monte Carlo
Treatment & facilities: Recently named Europe’s best hotel spa in 2010 by Villégiature Awards, Willow Stream Spa in Monte Carlo is a unique creation.
It offers specially developed treatments inspired by traditional knowledge of aromatic plants and herbs and uses its position on the Mediterranean to bring the rejuvenating allure of the sea to mind and body. Treatments, carried out in eight intimate spaces, evoke the beauty of the Mediterranean coast.
Signature treatment: The 90-minute Willow Stream Elements is a centuries-old experience that harnesses nature’s primal elements to rejuvenate dry or maturing skin: earth (medicinal mud wrap inspired by Moor culture), air (aromatherapy), water (mineral bath) and fire (warm massage). Monaco Power of the Sea, also a 90-minute experience, is a unique detox that takes inspiration from the Mediterranean, providing a body wrap rich with re-mineralizing sea algae, a sea salt bath and a luxurious application of Marine Firming Cream, along with a nourishing acupressure facial and scalp massage.

Espa At Hôtel Metropole
Treatment & facilities: Voted the 3rd best spa in the Europe by Condé Nast Readers’ Spa Awards 2011 and a member of Leading Spas of the World, the legendary ESPA brand seems to be hard to beat.
ESPA is not just about cosmetics, but state of the art facilities: this sanctuary in Hôtel Metropole has Crystal Stream rooms, a soothing caldarium, stimulating ice fountain and two lifestyle showers that create a refreshing burst of cool mint mist, or tropical rain. To rest mind as well as body there is a candle lit relaxation room where guests can cocoon themselves, or a private sundeck for some natural rays. The 10 treatment rooms are adorned with natural materials – Pallasandra wood, slate and shimmering leather – and the natural fragrance of ESPA candles waft throughout. Two private suites can also be enjoyed.
Signature treatment: ESPA day spa rituals, or ‘journeys’ as they call them, allow guests to lose themselves in another world far removed from the bustle of Monte Carlo. These journeys are a combination of ancient and modern techniques sourced from around the world and are personalized completely to your requirements. The journey isn’t complete without the healthy yet delicious menu created by Joël Robuchon which can be served in the spa restaurant or the outdoor sundeck and swimming pool.
