Two triangles coming together at its points, a symbol created by jewelry designer, Lepa Galeb-Roskopp, comprise the logo of her company, Misahara. They are the tangible expression of the soul of the brand: unity. With two parents from vastly different cultures, an American mother and Serbian father, Galeb-Roskopp knows firsthand that the state of being one amongst diversity is entirely possible. And it’s a beautiful thing.
If unity is the soul of her company’s brand, Porto Montenegro is its muse. It’s the beloved place where she and her family spent their summers when she grew up, and it’s where she, her husband and their children spend their summers today. It’s also the home of one of Misahara’s flagship boutiques, which opened this summer.
While unity and diversity are celebrated in the Misahara collections, Galeb-Roskopp is also inspired by the nature and cultures she experiences throughout all of her travels. She designs jewelry for tenacious women who feel comfortable in their own skin, and aspires to reflect their strength in pieces that are bold, eclectic and one-of-a-kind.
One of my favorite Misahara pieces, the Sahara choker, is a reversible diamond and sapphire necklace that illustrates chaos and unity, inspired by the war-torn Slavic countries of the early 1990s.
