American heritage brand Burger Boat Company has announced the custom designed Burger 48 Cruiser, a 15.6 metre luxury yacht that was built for an owner who ‘wanted control over her own vessel’.
Powered by twin 600 horsepower Volva Penta engines, it provides the owner with a joystick control for enhanced maneuverability. Incorporating the Dutch constructor Vripack Slide® Hull Design, its cruising speed is approximately 30 knots, with a top speed of 35, using aluminum to give the 48 increased without increasing weight.
“On behalf of the entire team at Burger, we are thrilled to Christen this beautiful yacht for her owner,” says Jim Ruffolo, president, Burger Boat Company. “This Burger 48 Cruiser is an exciting addition to the Burger family and has allowed her owner the joy of creating a new, custom yacht. It also provides the opportunity for others to acquire a custom alternative to production boats, one that allows an owner to take the helm of their very own creation.”
Burger worked in a ‘collaborative’ process with the owner of the 45, who personalized many of the details. award-winning designer Luiz de Basto designed the interiors, which features two ensuite bedrooms, unobstructed open gallery area views, a three burner electric stove and a large U-shaped dining area.
It also features a Nautical Structures hydraulic Swim Platform, which lowers onto the water to allow for ease of launching and retrieving tender as well as a recreational area for water sports and swimming. It also boasts large exterior spaces for entertaining friends and family, as well as a large transom storage area which incorporates a ‘barbecue area’. When the tender is launched, the transom will reveal a sink, barbecue and counter place.
A second model is already in the works and is available for immediate purchase by a new owner.
