Petrolheads take note: Oberoi Hotels is hosting its first-ever Concours d’Elegance – French for ‘competition of elegance’ – this week at its breathtaking resort on the banks of Lake Pichola in Udaipur.
Running from February 16–18 2024, the three-day event will showcase an array of classic cars and motorcycles from across the globe. Esteemed automotive historian Manvendra Singh Barwani curated the show, bringing together an impressive collection of sought-after vehicles owned by Indian royalty and private collectors.
A distinguished panel of classic car experts led by the chairperson of the world-renowned Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, Sandra Button, will judge the cars and motorcycles, bestowing the finest vehicles with the highest classifications.

“India’s automotive history has captivated me for over 15 years,” said Button. “The Oberoi Concours d’Elegance is more than a celebration; it’s a gathering of the world’s automotive elite, uniting leaders, collectors, racers and journalists. As chief judge, I’m honored to recognize the exceptional individuals behind these remarkable cars.”
Among the standout vintage cars on display will be a 1925 Hispano Suiza H6B Transformable Limousine made for the Maharaja of Mysore; the 1939 Daimler 2 ½ liter ‘Dolphin’ Tourer originally owned by the Aga Khan and later by the Jodhpur royal family; a 1916 Emblem 680cc V Twin motorcycle; and a selection of cars owned by the Oberoi family. The event will also showcase the iconic BMW 328 – the most successful sports car of the 1930s on the racing scene.
