WHEN BEST TO GO

Lisbon enjoys a mild climate with a mean annual temperature of 17C, making the city an ideal destination throughout the year.

Summer days can get hot in the city center, but the evenings are surprisingly cool. Winter often brings rain, making Spring the optimum time to visit.

LOCAL CUSTOMS

The Portuguese are relaxed about social etiquette and Lisbon residents are not easily offended. However it is considered impolite to stretch in public, eat with or lick your fingers.

ATTIRE

Lisbon’s laid back residents are used to seeing visitors in shorts and t-shirts. However, shorts are not acceptable in religious buildings and smarter attire is expected for dining.
