SILK
Lisbon’s most exclusive club, Silk opened its doors in March 2008 and has a very strict and selective door and members policy.
Accessed only by two panoramic elevators, Silk is located on the upper two floors of Espaço Chiado and boasts breathtaking 270º views of Lisbon. Lisbon’s hippest club, Lux is partly owned by actor John Malkovich and is one of Europe’s most fashionable nightspots, with its unique, retro interior attracting stars such as Cameron Diaz and Prince.

COMPANHIA NACIONAL DE BAILADO
Founded in 1977 with the aim of developing Portuguese dance as well as showcasing international works, The National Ballet of Portugal, Companhia Nacional de Bailado (CNB), is unique in its presentation of both classical and neo-classical works, as well as contemporary pieces.
Luísa Taveira took over as artistic director in October 2010 and there is a packed program for 2011-12 including John Cranko’s 1958 Romeo and Juliet at the Ballet’s home in Lisbon’s Camões Theater.
SENHOR VINHO
Cuisine: Traditional No trip to Lisbon would be complete without experiencing Portugal’s unique Fado music.
Reflecting Portugal’s maritime history, traditional Fado consists of mournful singing accompanied by classical guitar, and Senhor Vinho is the iconic restaurant of the genre. Opened in 1975, Senhor Vinho has always aimed to satisfy its guests both gastronomically and artistically, with a host of the world’s best Fado performers making regular appearances. Some of the most influential figures in politics and the arts frequent Senhor Vinho. Expect to stay until around 2am and savor Portugal’s national music.
ESTADO LIQUIDO
Designed by architect Carla Mendes, Estado Liquido features an upstairs sushi bar with an ever-changing menu under the guidance of chef Arnaldo Ferreira.
As well as fusion sushi which creates an explosive blend of Eastern and Western tastes, the upstairs mezzanine sushi lounge features special ‘beds’ to relax and dine on and an eclectic jazz and soul musical background creates a sophisticated yet casual atmosphere. Meanwhile the downstairs bar stays open late and has quickly become one of Lisbon’s most popular night spots. As the chef and his staff love to experiment with their sushi recipes, classes are available for guests to bring their own tastes and creativity to the cuisine.
