All eyes will be on the stunning El Camaleón Golf Club the week of November 10-16, 2014 for the OHL Classic at Mayakoba when the world’s top PGA TOUR players will have the opportunity to compete on the Greg Norman designed, 7,000-yard, 18-hole championship course.
El Camaleón (The Chameleon) is aptly named for the diverse terrain and environments it presents to players while meandering throughout the 1600-acre Mayakoba enclave. Touting a $6 million purse, the largest of any professional tournament in Latin America, the OHL Classic at Mayakoba made history in 2007 when it became the first PGA TOUR event held outside the United States and Canada.
Rosewood Mayakoba, the 130 all-suite luxury resort also located within Mayakoba, is positioned along a mile-long arc of white Caribbean sand and will be at the heart of the excitement. In celebration of the high profile tournament, Riviera Maya’s award winning resort is continuing the tradition of offering The Ultimate Golf Package, an experience that will provide bragging rights and cocktail party conversation for years to come. Graeme Davis, Regional Vice President and Managing Director of Rosewood Mayakoba, stated that he is “excited to reintroduce the exceptional package for a second time after the enormous success of last year’s tournament and the events surrounding it.”
The seven-night, $100,000 package, designed for three golfers, boasts a private lesson with world famous golf instructor Jim McLean, a private round of golf with sport legend Greg Norman at Playa Mujeres with helicopter transportation to and from, as well as three positions in the OHL Classic at Mayakoba Pro-Am, where golfers will be paired with one of the event’s premiere players and a leading Mexican television sports personality. At the conclusion of the OHL Classic, guests will enjoy an exclusive meet-and-greet with the newly crowned champion as well as an opportunity to compete with the PGA TOUR professionals.
Throughout the tournament, guests will have honorary observer positions, access to the exclusive Founders Club and private transportation in their own BMW with a personal driver. They will also enjoy the luxury and privacy of the 6,272 square-foot Presidential Lagoon Suite along with a private beach barbeque and tequila tasting led the resort’s master Tequilier. It is sure to be a dream come to true for any golf enthusiast and two close friends.
