Christie’s New York annual Magnificent Jewels collection is here. On April 16, the auction house will host its day-long auction featuring some of the world’s most brilliant pieces from private collectors from around the globe.
Leading the auction is a fancy vivid blue diamond twin-stone ring consisting of two diamonds that are 3.06 carats and 2.61 carats. The ring is set to sell between $6 million and 8 million.
Other highlights of this collection include a 16.33-carat rectangular-cut diamond ring set to go for $1.2 to 2.2 million and a fancy pink diamond ring measuring 6.11 carats for $1.2 to 1.5 million.
Walking through this year’s selection is like walking through precious moments in history. Signed pieces by Bulgari, Cartier, Jean Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co and Van Cleef & Arpels from private collectors are a marvel to look at.
In particular, Van Cleef & Arpels gold, ruby and diamond ‘zip’ necklace ($150,000 to 200,000) from a distinguished American collection is a one-of-a-kind piece made exclusively for a private client.
There’s also a diamond, sapphire, emerald and gold ‘dolphin’ brooch from Jean Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co ($50,000 to 70,000) that will be a sure highlight from the collection.
Most surprisingly, a signed Cartier charm bracelet with Art Deco enameling and gold Snow White‘s seven dwarfs ($15,000 to 20,000) is the only known charm bracelet to exist and was made after the movie’s release in February 1938.
In addition to the live auction held at Christie’s New York on Tuesday, the auction house will host its online auction from April 10 through April 17/18 with smaller treasures from all over the world, including pieces from Bulgari, Cartier, David Webb, Tiffany & Co and Van Cleef & Arpels.
