Island Gardens Deep Harbour, North America’s first superyacht marina on Miami’s Watson Island in the US, has announced the opening of The Deck, an outdoor lounge for superyacht owners. The Deck at Island Gardens is the latest addition to the still-developing superyacht marina, which intends to offer a solitary hotspot to complement yachting.
Offering panoramic waterfront views of Biscayne Bay and Downtown Miami, The Deck at Island Gardens is now open with special weekend and summer hours for global marina clients who arrive via superyacht and locals who love the yachting lifestyle. “The addition of The Deck at Island Gardens honours Miami as North America’s newest superyachting capital, but also, as a one-stop entertainment and lifestyle destination,” says Mehmet Bayraktar, chairman and CEO of the marina developer Flagstone Property Group. “Visitors can come by either land or sea, and relax in the lounge while enjoying the best waterfront views in South Florida; overlooking Biscayne Bay and the Downtown Miami skyline.”
Bayraktar commissioned Miami nightlife entrepreneurs Michael Capponi and Eric Milon to activate the waterfront destination, an amenity of the superyacht marina. The vision was unite all of the high-level components needed to build up a definitive Miami hotspot – the finest music, culinary, leisure, entertainment and health and wellness offerings complimenting the wonder of the world’s largest yachts and breathtaking waterfront views.
“We’ve had an overwhelming response from local socialites and the yachting elite since our opening last month,” said Michael Capponi, entrepreneur and co-founder of InList.com. “The Deck at Island Gardens comes alive weekly with the Friday Dinner Party, Wellth Saturdays with activities such as waterfront yoga, and on Sundays, we’ve introduced a luxe speakeasy brunch and an exclusive sunset lounge concept complete with nightlife and music.”
Island Gardens Deep Harbour opened in early January and is now fully operational. The superyacht marina offers 5,000 linear feet of capacity, accommodating an average of 50 yachts stretching up to 167m (550ft) and drafts ranging from 5m to 6m (18ft-21ft) deep.
