The Penthouse at One Dalton is First in its Class

Property of the Week: Four Seasons One Dalton is the tallest residential building in New England.

By Ellys Woodhouse

Sure, it may be Boston’s rich history, vibrant culture and academic excellence that makes this city a landmark on the East Coast, but the city can also lay claim to a different but nonetheless impressive metric: it is one of a handful of cities globally with multiple Four Seasons properties.

Making the difficult decision to choose between the two luxury hotels – formally known as the Four Seasons Boston and Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences One Dalton – for just a fleeting visit may require some rest and relaxation in and of itself. If you are looking to lay down more permanent roots, however, it’s Four Seasons One Dalton that you should turn to. And if we could have our choice of property, we’d be going straight to the top to the Penthouse.

Perhaps the clue is in its name, but the Penthouse at One Dalton strives to be first in its class. The duplex apartment officially known as Residence 6103 is the premier private residence from the Four Seasons, itself one of the world’s leading luxury hotel brands, and is perched on the very top of the highest residential building not only in Boston but in the whole of New England.

The 740-ft-tall tower was designed by the late Henry N Cobb to make a statement against the rows of neighboring Blackbay Brownstones townhouses, and this four-bedroom, four-bathroom home offers unparalleled views to the east, south and west of the city.

A security-enabled elevator from the private lobby opens up directly into the double-height entrance. The 7,256-sq-ft property makes the very most of its altitude, with panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows framing the Boston skyline.

If you’re not feeling dizzy from the height, there are two private outdoor spaces with postcard-worthy backdrops. The first balcony can be found on the first level and a larger terrace is accessible from the second floor, measuring 540 sq ft with an outdoor fireplace and cozy seating area.

Of course, being part of the Four Seasons Residences, owners can access its curated, world-class amenities, including a full-length heated pool, a state-of-the-art fitness area from celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak and a spa, offering personally curated treatment and workout programs.
