The Restaurant
In the charming hilltop town of Montemerano, Ristorante Caino stands as an authentic Tuscan culinary destination. Chef Valeria Piccini, a proud ambassador of Maremma cuisine, crafts regionally inspired dishes with emotion and love. Caino currently holds two Michelin stars, a testament to its excellent cooking. The restaurant draws inspiration from the area's fertile chalk soils, producing its own wines and exceptional olive oil from approximately nine hundred trees. The ambiance is enhanced by Andrea, Valeria's son, who oversees the wine cellar, featuring a selection of Brunello and Barolo vintages. For a lighter experience during the summer months, Il Giardino di Caino opens on the terrace, serving simpler dishes inspired by old family traditions.
