The Suite
A designated New York City landmark, The St. Regis New York is one of the city’s longest-standing hotels, opening its golden doors in 1904. It was built by legendary developer and business magnate John Jacob Astor IV, who set about creating a New York rival to the grandest hotels in Europe. A true NYC icon, it seems the appropriate place to find a suite inspired by one of Paris’s most iconic 20th-century designers: Christian Dior.
The St. Regis Dior Suite is a fashion lover's dream. As stylishly sophisticated as the French designs that have graced the catwalks for three quarters of a century, the 1,700-sq-ft, one-bed, two-bathroom suite is one of the city’s most fashionable residences.
The Belle Epoque era suite is inspired by the designer’s Parisian atelier. White paneled walls, ornate cornicing upon towering ceilings and crystal chandeliers run through the living spaces. Two sets of dual aspect French doors – complete with original black wrought iron balconies – flood the lounge with light.
An elaborate black marble fireplace forms the centerpiece but shares the limelight with an original watercolor rendering by famed fashion illustrator Bil Donovan celebrating four iconic Dior silhouettes throughout the decades.
A demure color palette in the late French designer’s favorite shades of dove gray, silver-lilac and blush pink continue in the sizable dining room, serviced by a kitchenette, and across the marble foyer into the undeniably glamorous bedroom which features a dressing area and marble ensuite.
Guests will also enjoy the services of a dedicated butler throughout their stay. The suite was awarded Elite Traveler’s Top Suites 2024 Staff and Services Award for its elevated offering and dedication to delivering impeccable service to its guests.
