InterContinental Bali Resort Opens Sayana Lounge for Early Arriving and Late Departing Guests

By Zahra Al-Kateb

sayana-lounge_living-roomInterContinental Bali Resort is pleased to announce the opening of the ‘Sayana Lounge’ – a dedicated Arrival and Departure Lounge for early arriving and late departing guests. In Sanskrit, Sayana (सायन) have a meaning of the place for a temporary rest or laying down for a rest before start again to continue the long Journey to Ayana. In Sanskrit “Ayana” means “Our true goal, direction” or more specifically “a good path” in terms of one’s life journey.

Located on the ground floor of the Resort, this purpose-designed resting place offers lockers, showers and changing facilities as well as a plush lounge and open air terrace, which guests can enjoy free of charge until either their room is ready or until their time of departure.

The chic and elegant 24-hour lounge resonates with the essence of Bali showcasing local craftsmanship and intricate wood carved accents, such as door handles and wall hangings. Local materials have been utilised in the design, including teakwood furnishings, marble vanity units and parquet floors, to ensure that the ambience of the island greets guests upon their arrival or remains with them until the moment of their departure.

Synonymous with the style of the Resort and in harmony with its engaging, contemporary décor, the air-conditioned lounge is furnished with comfortable seating, including two deeply-cushioned sofas and a refreshment bar with high chairs. It is thoughtfully equipped with an international-channel TV, complimentary Wi-Fi, universal power points, and a complimentary tea and coffee making facility as well as water. Outside the main lounge is a large open-air veranda, with plentiful cushioned seating overlooking the Resort’s beautiful lagoon. This is an area where guests may smoke if they wish.

Sayana Lounge also provides eight lockers for the storage of suitcases and bags, two of the lockers are walk-in and family sized with the capacity for a large quantity of luggage and personal effects. Each locker features a combination lock that guests can set with their own PIN number. Adjacent to the lockers is a wide space where guests can comfortably open, unpack or repack their luggage upon suitcase tables positioned at the optimum height. A wash room area with a non-slip marble floor presents three private walk-in showers and changing rooms.

International travel can be tiring, so Sayana Lounge is the perfect place to relax and unwind after a long flight, watch the latest entertainment, catch up on emails, or shower and change after a day beside the pool before being transferred to the airport.
