The Sanya EDITION, a stunning oceanfront destination on Hainan Island, just off the coast of Southern China, is the latest addition to EDITION hotels, the brand Ian Schrager conceived in a partnership with Marriott International.
Featuring an expansive 50-acre tropical oasis, a private ocean, and Playland where guests can relive the days of youth in bumper cars, water bikes, mini golf, and more, the Sanya EDITION comprises 512 luxuriously appointed rooms, all with a stunning view of the South China Sea.
The guestrooms include 46 suites, and an additional 17 exclusive hotel villas nestled into a terraced hillside, each one with a private pool and private outdoor space. The villas, which range in size from 450 sqm to 1,000 sqm and include a private garden, terrace, swimming pool and parking lot, offer ocean views approximately 200 metres from the Haitang Bay shore. The Sanya EDITION also features a striking 5-acre “private ocean” — the first of its kind in China and the largest in the world, with six swimming pools lining the private ocean.
Guests can dine at four of the resort’s specialty restaurants: Market at EDITION that features a series of food stations offering the finest selections of local and international cuisine; The Jade Egret that offers pre-dinner cocktails, appetizers and small plates inspired by Spain’s famous tapas bars, in a yacht inspired space; Beach Barbacoa that serves grilled seafood inspired by the Jimbaran Bay in Bali; and Xian Hai By The Sea, a seafood restaurant where guests can opt to dine atop illuminated floating platforms in the private ocean.
In addition, the hotel features “Limited EDITION” a lifestyle shop, co-curated by UCCA (Ullens Center for Contemporary Art) Beijing and Steven Giles of Miami EDITION.
