The new accessory this season? Proenza Schouler says it’s a good book. The New York-based womenswear and accessories brand has partnered with Dashwood Books to introduce a curated selection of titles to decorate Proenza Schouler’s Soho store.
On Greene Street, the store will change titles each season to reflect the current collection and the interests of the designers. The selection includes books with strong design sensibility relating to art, architecture and materials, including some vintage titles.
Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, founding designers of Proenza Schouler, chose to collaborate with the independent bookstore Dashwood Books for its unique array of titles and artistic draw. Both designers credit Dashwood Books as the store that has helped them develop their own personal book collections.
The current collection features Remote Past – A Memoir: 1951-1966 by Kikuji Kawada, Nude Animal Cigar by Paul Kooiker, The City Beautiful by Martien Mulder, Ceau by Christoph Buche, 2004 Camden Arts Centre by Christopher Wool, One Hundred Stonewares by Yoshihiko Ueda, Biosophia of Birds by Yoshihiko Ueda, Erotos by Nobuyoshi Araki, Hysteric Fifteen by Sue Rynski and The Hollywood Suites by Steve Kahn, among many others.
Proenza Schouler is located at 121 Greene Street, New York, NY 10012. For more information, please visit proenzaschouler.com.
