One of the most striking aspects of my tour of Cloud 9 during the Monaco Yacht Show, and an element that really resonated with me while I was on board and after, was how much the crew obviously adored their jobs. They spoke with real heart and feeling about their passion for the yacht itself, their charter guests and their owner. And we all know that one of the most important components in a recipe for charter success is a happy crew!
Built by CRN for a family orientated owner who brought in the expertise of Winch Design to create a comfortable, relaxed indoor-outdoor interior space, Cloud 9 is 242.8ft long and voluminous. Her interior has an incredible calming effect, quite an achievement mid Monaco Yacht Show.
She can accommodate 12 guests in eight cabins and in a quirky turn, owing to the fact that the owner is a huge fan of Star Wars, each of the guest rooms are named after a character with Chewbacca, Princess Leia and BB-8 all making an appearance. The VIP Suite is of course called Jabba the Hut and the Master Suite is named after the Jedi master himself, Yoda.
The Master Suite enjoys panoramic views of the ocean and there is an extensive walk in wardrobe and vanity area. There is also an owner’s forward, which allows private dinner date nights directly from the master room. The owners aft has a screen that drops down with a sound system enabling the family to watch films outside while enjoying a more relaxed form of service.
There is also a compact spa on board, which features a hair salon and a fold out balcony, which not only provides more space but also creates probably the best view on earth from the massage table.
Cloud 9 is available for charter in the Mediterranean over the summer from €875,000 per week (prices quoted in €, converts to approximately $1,016,000 with current exchange rate) and in the Caribbean and Bahamas over the winter from $875,000 per week, contact charter@burgessyachts.com, burgessyachts.com
