On May 11 and 12, Phillips in Association with Bacs & Russo will host The Geneva Watch Auction: Nine.
In the selection of watches presented at the auction, Patek Philippe and Rolex are predominant (and have been so in their other auctions; the two brands both do extremely well). Other highlights within the auction include Vacheron Constantin, Hermès, FP Journe, MB&F, George Daniels, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Audemars Piguet and plenty of other major and independent watch brands. Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Ref 16528
Estimate: $101,000-201,000
From 1939, this Cosmograph Daytona from 1989 is made of 18K yellow gold and measures 39mm in diameter. It’s offered by Brazilian racecar driver Ayrton Senna and comes with an autographed helmet faceguard, as well as a letter from Angelo Parilla, who gifted him the watch.

Rolex Cosmograph Daytona, Ref 6241
Estimate: $353,000-705,000
Circa 1969, this Daytona is from Paul Newman with a “John Player Special’ dial. The chronograph, encased in 14K gold, and is one of the most unique Rolex’s out there – there are only a handful of John Player Special (JPS) iterations out there.
