Cast off to the Turkish Riviera to enjoy the most mesmerizing part of Turkey’s Mediterranean and Aegean coastlines. The sandy beaches, history and authentic culture provide visitors with an unforgettable experience.
Situated north of Fethiye in the Dalaman region, meandering along the glistening coastline is the small idyllic village of Göcek. Here, in one of Turkey’s most stunning marinas, you find D-Resort Göcek surrounded by vast mountains and lush gardens.
For those wanting to relax while also indulging in the local traditions and cultures of the area, this hotel is perfect.
Just moments away from the charming village and a 10-minute walk from a private beach, guests will experience a very special mix of landscapes where they can swim in the warm waters of the eastern Aegean while looking out to secluded islets, beckoning to be explored.
The hotel combines authentic style with classic beauty that resonates with Turkish culture. The mastermind behind the design is Hasan Mingu.
Stay
Driving up to the hotel, the staff greet guests with cool refreshments and help them with their luggage into the bright and modern lobby that looks out to the village of Göcek.
The Mediterranean styled villas collectively have 102 double rooms or suites with private balconies and terraces. All rooms boast an elegant blue and white nautical design that reflects the unspoiled nature of the turquoise coastline.
Looking out to a stunning blue bay, the modern low-rise buildings are designed to fit perfectly into its serene surroundings.
Many of the ground floor rooms open out to a terrace, giving guests direct access to the outer grounds and pools.
Comfort is key at D-Resort Göcek; robes, slippers and Nespresso machines are available in each room, creating a relaxing and comforting environment. The walk-in marble bathrooms and showers come with bathrobes, slippers, illuminated vanity mirrors and also a collection Molton Brown products.
There are several types of suites available for those that desire an even more luxurious stay. From Attic Suites on the top floor to the grand design of the Presidential Suite, guests have a wide range of choices.
The ultimate package of comfort and relaxation can be found in the Presidential Suite. This suite sleeps five people and is located on the garden floor with direct pool access. It has two large bedrooms that continue the nautical theme with a spacious living room looking out over to the sea.
Dine
Turkey is renowned for its traditional local delicacies. You can find a great variety of mouth-watering dishes at any of D-Resort Göcek’s three restaurants.
The Olive Tree restaurant is where the guests enjoy the largest amount of choice from the delicious breakfast buffet. Tuck into authentic Turkish breakfast dishes as well a fine selection of international food.
Traditional Turkish breakfasts (kahvalti) are rich in flavor combining savory and sweet dishes. Kahvalti can be translated to mean ‘before coffee’ so it’s only right that breakfast should end with a cup of traditional Turkish coffee.
For lunch, the perfect place is The Breeze restaurant that serves sensationally fresh fish and traditional Turkish cuisine. You couldn’t ask for a more pleasant start to the afternoon by walking along the beach to reach the restaurant that is right on the waterside.
Guests can enjoy traditional Aegean and Greek cuisine. A favorite Turkish dish is Lahmacun (Turkish Pizza) – a thin, crispy pizza that is topped with minced meat, fresh herbs and earthy spices.
For dinner, guests cannot leave without dining at the Q Lounge. Situated on a hilltop, the restaurant offers breath-taking views of the Mediterranean Sea and the islands stretching out to the horizon.
Designed by architect Noriushi Muramatsu who is also behind the renowned Zuma restaurants, Q Lounge serves contemporary Japanese food along with an array of specialized cocktails to enjoy while watching the sunset over the sea.
Relax
The shimmering blue pools around D-Resort Göcek offers the perfect place to relax or take a leisurely swim.
However, D-SPA has every facility to achieve complete relaxation and rejuvenation. The spa consists of four treatment rooms, two wooden saunas, relaxation suites, vitality pools and a hammam. It’s the perfect place to go after using the resort’s gym which is right by the spa.
Classic Swedish, Balinese and reflexology massages are just some of the services on offer to soothe away any stresses. There are also a range of Turkish bath rituals to explore; we love the pink mud massage and the deeply purifying sensation it delivers. After treatments, simply sit back and relax in one of the resting areas with tranquil garden views to enjoy.
Activities
The village of Göcek is a must to explore. A two-minute walk from the hotel, the seafront village has a number of shops, bars and restaurants to purchase local goods from. The best way to enjoy the village and its surroundings is by bike. The hotel offers bicycles to rent for all its guests by the main entrance.
The marina itself is a paradise for yachting and water sports. Scuba diving, rafting and paragliding are all available to do. Paragliding is one of the most popular activities, offering stunning views of the bay and the many uninhabited islands around.
