First Look: Nobu Beach Inn on Barbuda in Pictures

The property is the only Nobu Hotel co-owned by Nobu co-founder Robert De Niro.

Once the playground of the late, great Princess Diana, the pristine shores of southwest Barbuda first captured the attention of Nobu co-founder Robert De Niro over three decades ago – and its been his mission to set up shop here ever since. Nobu Beach Inn is slated to open in 2026, and exclusive renders of the new hotel have just been launched.

An expansion of the existing Nobu Barbuda restaurant, Nobu Beach Inn will comprise 36 guest bedrooms across 17 cottages, as well as a beachfront spa, open-air gym and a serene yoga space. Making the most of its prime 400 acres of coastline, bespoke experiences will include sailing trips and marine biology classes.

Billing itself as an ‘informal’ resort, this upcoming Nobu opening will instill a sense of castaway luxury in one of the world’s most picturesque locales. Marking an underlying commitment to ecological development, the hotel’s design will also emphasise natural materials and low-density construction.

For those wanting a more personal slice of the action, pre-sales for the resort’s 25 Hotel Villa lots are underway. Arranged either side of the main hotel facilities, the beachfront bungalow-style villas offer a choice of interior finishes.

While these properties are pre-configured, a series of fully customizable lots are set to be released at a later date. Prices for the private lots begin at $12m, with owners able to rent the villas as they choose.

While the majority of the Nobu brand is individually owned, the Nobu Beach Inn property is the only Nobu Hotel in the world directly co-owned by De Niro (along with his two partners, chef Nobu Matsuhisa and producer Meir Teper). As a result, the actor has had a hands-on involvement in the project and has been personally involved in all design and concept decisions. All three partners have already committed to owning their own private homes as part of the development.
