Harry Winston Opens Timepiece Facility December 11, 2007
Harry Winston has announced the opening of its Timepiece Manufacture in Geneva, Switzerland. Since its first collection of timepieces debuted in 1989, Harry Winston has garnered widespread acclaim among watch connoisseurs for its innovative approach. As Harry Winston continues to expand in order to meet increased demand, the opening of the Manufacture marks a milestone in the continued success of the companys timepiece business.
In all, 100 employees are based at Plan-les-Ouates. The industrial wing of the Timepiece Manufacture houses all production processes (excluding the dials that will continue to be made at Les Cadraniers), the manufacture of cases, timepiece assembly, gem setting and quality control. The commercial wing of the facility is home to design, international sales, marketing and communications, security, IT, finance, internal audit and human resources.
”The Timepiece Manufacture will enable us to extend our production capacity to meet the growing global demand of our product. At the same time, we will be able to house all of our activities under one roof, providing a streamlined approach that is essential for maintaining an efficient and effective business model,” said Thomas O’Neill, CEO of Harry Winston.
