SLS Hotels Announces New Spa Concept, “CIEL AT SLS” SPA

Los Angeles, CA – SBE’s SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills, A Luxury Collection Hotel, opening Fall 2008, will also debut its own unique spa concept, Ciel at SLS. The 5,000-square-foot, full-service spa will provide the perfect complement to the SLS hotel experience, which will offer a new paradigm in luxury hospitality. SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills will be part of The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts, a glittering ensemble of more than 69 of the world’s finest hotels and resorts in more than 26 countries in spectacular destinations around the world.

A sophisticated and serene environment created by world renowned designer Philippe Starck, Ciel at SLS spa will be a sanctuary for hotel guests and Angelenos alike.

“The concept of Ciel at SLS spa was a natural and organic evolution of the SLS Hotels brand,” said Arash Azarbarzin, President, Hotels at SBE. “We wanted to create a destination that would transcend the traditional boundaries of what a spa should be. To us, a spa can be a social gathering place for friends, an exclusive private club and a lounge experience full of surprises. A spa can and should be all of these things, while still maintaining that sense of luxury, serenity and pampering. That is why we created Ciel.”

Designed with an unerring eye for luxury, comfort and state-of-the-art technology, Ciel at SLS emphasizes highly intuitive and personalized service in a soothing yet playful setting. All aspects of the Ciel experience will be fluid by design and philosophy to match each guest’s wishes and personal preferences.

Evocative of a celestial dreamscape, guests will feel relaxed and at ease among the warm white tones and billowing curtains, while delightful discoveries surprise throughout the space. Refreshing and healthy savories will be offered in the lounge, created by acclaimed chef José Andrés exclusively for Ciel at SLS. Ranging from organic snacks and delicate fruits to decadent champagne and handmade truffles, spa fare at Ciel at SLS will be far from commonplace.

The Ciel at SLS spa rooms will be unique environments equipped with music, lighting and technology options that allow spa therapists to set the mood for each treatment and guest preference. The spa rooms will be intimate havens equipped with luxuries like an experience shower, custom massage beds with sound systems and armchairs for foot bath rituals. The co-ed lounge will serve as an ideal place to relax and socialize both pre- and post-spa experience.

Among the various spa rooms, two luxurious couples’ suites will top the list, with one featuring side-by-side massage tables and Philippe Starck-designed soaking tubs. The other decadent couples suite has been specially designed for body treatments, with side-by-side treatment tables and an experience shower for two. Additional amenities that Ciel at SLS spa will offer include a hair and nail salon, sunless tanning services, a private women’s serenity alcove and locker rooms with steam and experience showers. Full massage and treatment services will be available in SLS guestrooms as well as in private cabanas at the pool deck.

Offering a full menu of traditional, innovative and signature services, Ciel at SLS provides a highly personalized guest experience complete with individual spa valets and concierges, professional skincare consultants and a superlative team of spa therapists. The dynamic menu of spa services is filled with ritual and individual choice, including a selection of custom aromatherapy blends, results-oriented facials, rejuvenating body treatments and massage therapies that lead guests through a process of rediscovery and renewal.

Ciel at SLS signature treatments include a synchronized, intimate massage for two and a personalized music massage using Acoustic Sound Resonance Therapy, allowing a symphony of scents and sounds to resonate throughout the entire body. Each spa room will be equipped with iPod docking stations, allowing guest s to personalize the soundtrack of their massage experience.

The boutique product lines for Ciel at SLS rate among the latest and most buzz worthy cult favorites on the market. All massage, aromatherapy and body treatment products will be inspired by Aromapothecary, who are known for their natural ingredients and blends. Skincare consultants will use Ling products and utilize Ageless Aesthetics technology, providing state-of-the-art facial treatments, including a miracle-worthy “double collagen facial.” Another Ciel at SLS signature is the “spun-glass facial,” using Freeze 24/7, a unique product recognized as a preferred alternative to Botox.
