Bhutan Launches Internet Radio Station For Tourism

By Pardhasaradhi Gonuguntla

A new global internet radio station has just launched in the remote Himalayan country of Bhutan. The only country in the world that measures its progress and condition by the measure of Gross National Happiness GNH versus Gross National Product GNP.

It is now streaming on-line at www.cafebhutan.com.

Described as both magical and beautiful by the few who have visited there, the station will promote Bhutan around the world to its enthusiasts, spiritual beings, Buddhists as well former and future visitors to Bhutan and those committed to world causes relating to global transformation, the environment, social justice and world peace.

While there are tens of thousands of Internet radio stations around the world, a search of internet stations by country does not even list Bhutan as a country. This station will be the first to promote Bhutan?s culture and many of the causes associated with its spiritual roots and sense of human justice and dignity.

The studio of www.cafebhutan.com is located at the premises of Bhutanese terrestrial FM radio station Radio Valley 99.9 FM in Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan.
