The Presidential Suite At Villa La Massa Bows

By Pardhasaradhi Gonuguntla

The tranquillity and sophistication that guests of Villa La Massa have experienced for centuries has just been raised to a whole new extraordinary level. The award-winning Small Leading Hotel of the World and sister property of the famous Villa d’Este on Lake Como has just inaugurated its Presidential Suite.

The spectacular Presidential Suite is a bucolic haven of peace and serenity, surrounded by the olive and cypress trees of the estate’s 20-acre park, and boasting a 1500 square foot private garden, complete with private Jacuzzi, from which the panorama is rich with the colors of Tuscany. It is composed of two magnificent suites, an 800sf Suite Exclusive (the Arno Suite) and a 500sf Junior Suite, separated by a large living space that includes a working fireplace. The entire suite has 3 white marble baths and bedrooms that have been decorated in the rich Renaissance style that is on display throughout the estate. The artwork and tapestry on view have been crafted by Florentine artisans for centuries. The Presidential Suite is located in the smallest of three buildings on the estate, the Villino, which has a total of five rooms and is therefore, a perfect retreat for a family or large group.

“While our hotel, with its 37 rooms, offers all of our clients sophisticated and relaxed service, the Presidential Suite takes this to another level, providing someone who would like the added bonus of complete privacy with a separate entrance, private garden and terrace and a large space all to themselves, the ability to have this without having to sacrifice the creature comforts of being in a world-class resort-food, wine, massage, entertainment, chauffeur, to name a few- all just a phone call away”, says Marco Montagnani, General Manager of Villa La Massa.

Built in the 16th Century as a Medici retreat, Villa La Massa has been run as a hotel since 1948. It was purchased by the Villa d’Este Group hotels in 1998, undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation, to become a jewel in the countryside at the gateway to the Chianti wine region and a stone’s throw from the Ponte Vecchio in Florence.
